For starters, this site will allow you to order customized clothes made in the Garment Production Center at the Bhagavatula Charitable Trust. The cloth is handmade, and the dyes are organic in most cases. The clothes are made by tailors from rural communities under the supervision of master tailors, and an experienced fashion designer. In many cases, similar clothes sell for a significant premium at high end stores around the world.
The ordering itself is intended to be as simple as:
- Selecting a fabric you like (make sure to check out the designer recommendations)
- Selecting the style of clothes
- Providing your measurements
- Pay via PayPal.
Roonet.org will transfer 100% of the money received to the non-profit producing the product. In time, as interest in the site grows, we hope to open this site up to other non-profits and products.
P.S: BCT also offers traditional fabrics such as cottons and linens.
